Lip-synching.

So I heard that Ashlee Simpson was caught this past Saturday night lip-synching her big tune "Pieces of Me" on SNL. Saturday Night Live is a small venue, only a few hundred seats, and I'm amazed that any professional artist would try to pull something in such a small venue. You would never attend a classical musical or jazz concert where the artist would even consider lip-synching. Why does this stuff occur in pop music? What is the difference?

Man...I tivo'd that and just saw witnessed the carnage. It was funky. The music played one song, so the band played the song that was in the background. Then Ashlee was dancing around and eventually just bolted.

Which leads me to a more important point. Why can't we get better music acts on SNL? It has been pop mania lately...

My comment made no sense. It's too early.

I'll get more rest before I attempt that again.

I saw Eminem on SNL this past weekend, and I think, he too, was lip-synching. Come on! Has Eminem become so mainstream pop that even he is ditching his verbal acrobatics for the mass-media appeal of vocal perfection?

SNL music has gone down the tubes lately. Letterman seems to still pull all of the hot young talent, though. Letterman and Conan.
